What does Jesus’ Great Commission mean for us today? In this foundational episode, Stina and Padre explore the roots of Virtue Ministry and its connection to Christ’s command to “go and make disciples of all nations.” They break open how lay people—not just priests—are called to evangelise, live their baptismal priesthood, and take their role in the Church seriously. This episode is both a reflection on VM’s mission and a challenge to all Christians to step into their God-given calling with clarity, courage, and virtue.

  • The Roots of Virtue Ministry: Founded on 8th September 2016
  • What the Early Church Understood: The apostles relied on the Holy Spirit (the Paraclete) and courageously carried their mission through to martyrdom. That same Spirit strengthens us today.
  • Evangelisation: Not Just for Priests: Padre explains the threefold baptismal mission of lay people—priest, prophet, and king—and how this responsibility plays out in daily life.
  • The Mission in Action: The call to holiness isn’t vague—it’s personal. Discern how your talents and context are meant to serve the Gospel.
  • Obstacles to Evangelisation: Stina and Padre tackle common barriers such as fear, pride, culture, and misuse of truth, and offer pastoral wisdom on how to navigate them.
  • Discipleship Over Conversion: We are not just called to make converts, but disciples—people in relationship with Christ who follow Him wholeheartedly.
  • The Role of Virtue – Fortitude: Padre explains how fortitude helps us act with courage, especially when evangelising in the face of fear, resistance, or uncertainty.

  1. Where in my life is God calling me to be more intentional about evangelisation?
  2. How can I better prepare myself spiritually to witness the Gospel?
  3. What virtue do I most need to grow in to become an authentic disciple?
  4. Who is one person who could encounter Christ through my actions this week?

  1. Discern Your Evangelisation Style: Reflect on your gifts and context. Are you called to witness through hospitality, teaching, creativity, or quiet service?
  2. Practice Daily Fortitude: When fear or discomfort arises around sharing your faith, ask the Holy Spirit for strength and start with small steps.
  3. Engage Prayerfully: Ask God daily, “Who do you want to love through me today?” Be ready to listen and respond.
